LaraEngine License Agreement
Copyright © LeadStallion LLC. All rights reserved.
This is a commercial software license. LaraEngine is not open-source, and this agreement is not an open-source license (MIT, GPL, etc.) despite the source code being provided to you in full.
1. Definitions
- "Software" means the LaraEngine source code, in the state you received it, including any updates the Licensor makes available to you under the same purchase.
- "End Product" means a distinct application, website, or SaaS product that you build using the Software, whether for yourself or a client.
- "Licensee" means the individual or organization that purchased a license key or received a licensed copy of the Software.
2. License Tiers
You are licensed under one of the following tiers, as selected and paid for at the time of purchase:
| Standard License | Extended License | |
|---|---|---|
| End Products | 1 | Unlimited |
| Use for client work | ✓ | ✓ |
| Modify the source | ✓ | ✓ |
| Charge your own customers (e.g. run it as a SaaS) | ✓ | ✓ |
A Standard License covers exactly one End Product. If you want to use the Software in a second End Product, either purchase an additional Standard License or upgrade to an Extended License.
3. Permitted Uses
Under either tier, you may:
- ✓ Use, modify, and extend the Software to build your End Product(s).
- ✓ Deploy your End Product(s) to production and charge your own end users for access to them (this is the intended use case — LaraEngine ships with real billing integration for exactly this).
- ✓ Use the Software on behalf of a client, where the client is the operator of the resulting End Product, counted as one End Product per client under a Standard License.
4. Restrictions
You may not:
- ✕ Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or share the Software's source code itself, whether modified or unmodified, as a standalone product, template, or starter kit — including on marketplaces, private repositories shared with third parties, or public repositories.
- ✕ Use the Software to build a product that is substantially a competing Laravel starter kit or boilerplate (as opposed to a specific application built using it).
- ✕ Remove or alter this license file or any copyright notices retained in the Software.
- ✕ Claim authorship of the unmodified Software itself.
Nothing in this agreement restricts what you do with your own code that you write on top of the Software for your End Product(s) — you own that.
5. Ownership
The Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights. This license grants you a right to use the Software under the terms above; it does not transfer ownership of the Software itself. You own the End Product(s) you build, and any original code you add, subject to the restrictions in Section 4.
6. No Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
7. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE TO OPERATE AN END PRODUCT.
8. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach Section 4. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software in any End Product not already licensed, though End Products already built and deployed under a valid license prior to breach are not retroactively affected.
9. Support and Updates
Support and update terms (if any) are as described at the point of purchase, not by this agreement.
